"PEAK PERFORMANCE MICROWAVE & mm-WAVE PRODUCTS"
Microwave Journal has posted a brief piece on the technology and market for 60 GHz radio links by Hans Johansson, our mm-wave product manager. It can be found here.
This article highlighted the benefits of 60GHz technology and is of great interest to us
since Roos Instruments is the only ATE company with a test solution in this frequency range. We would be interested on any comments from Mr. Johansson on his ideas for test requirements
for these devices. Also, if he would like to discuss any more specific philosophy of use
of this type of device, we would like to hear them.
Sivers IMA area of interest in this context is on mm-wave hardware. Testing in our production is directed towards primary parameters such as output power, noise figure, linearity etc, or in other words dB, mA and Watts. The use of ATE is somewhat limited since production is at this stage diversified and hence a great flexibilty in setup of instrumentation is required.
As the market evolves, a more solution oriented testing will be adapted and then paramaters will be evaluated in link or single-link environment, with more focus on system parameters.
Our converter modules has a very wide application area since it is more or less transparent to the user. We provide a minimum distorsion and bandwidth limiting converter function that is used in all types of communication systems, sensors and even test equipment !
