Millimeter Wave Converters

PLEASE NOTE: Our FC1002V and FC1001E series V and E band converters have been replaced by a new generation of converters designated FC1003V, FC1005V, FC1002E, and FC1003E.

Expected delivery (as of January 12th, 2012) for V-band units is the end of February 2012 and the end of April 2012 for E-band units.

E- and V-band Converters

The most difficult component to develop in a millimeter wave radio system is the radio front end. If this were an off the shelf component, radio link manufacturers could drastically reduce their development time and cost. Sivers IMA has developed a series of E- and V-band converters that fulfill this need. These converters allow a radio manufacturer, by adding a few key components, to quickly and easily develop new products using millimeter wave technology.

General

Our converter platform is a broadband and versatile building block for radio link applications. It is intended as a platform where customer requirements (such as extra gain, LO synthesizers, filters, diplexer, etc.) will be implemented upon request. It consists of one upand one down-converter in a single unit. The up- and down-converter function independently, and can thus be used in both frequency multiplexed and time multiplexed applications.

According to one prospective customer it “…is clear we are going to be needing your equipment in the future. There simply are no other solutions that will let us hit the bitrates we require, and your product offers the optimal off-the-shelf solution to our needs”
